PAR personnel possess the latest training and technology to download information from the crash data retrieval system (CDR) now aboard many late-model vehicles.

This "black box" information can include throttle position, velocity just prior to and at impact, velocity change sustained in impact, and restraint usage and deployment. The CDR download is a useful tool as part of an overall reconstruction.
